Interesting how South Korea has been discussed here numerous times and it is now getting noticed by the general public for PS. The doctor mentioned in this article has been discussed here too. Or at least his clinic was.

Yes. They do a lot of PS there. Problem is the only thing I can say in Korean is: 'If you lie, you won't go to heaven'. I so much wanted to go to college there when I was in high school but my mother would not allow it.

LOL, but that would be the limit of my conversation. I guess I can also say: 'Please give me Bi Bim Bop' and sign my name in Korean.

I have said in the past that South Korea is pretty much the cosmetic surgery capital of the eastern world. http://www.asianplasticsurgeryguide.com/korea/a_korean.htmlLast year, almost three million Korean women underwent surgical or nonsurgical cosmetic procedures, from the simple to the complex and multiple. Plastic surgery has become so common in South Korea that more than thirty percent of Korean women between the ages of twenty and fifty have had a cosmetic procedure. That percentage soars when looking at only those under age thirty, with some estimates exceeding fifty percent.

Yes, for people in the US but I'm asking is it made affordable to the people in Korea so that MORE people can get PS?

What is a bit worrying to me is the different aesthetic bias in this country. When you read the procedure list, the more common ones are the exact antitheses of those in the western cultures. e.g nose/lip lengthening, when we want shortening, refining oral protrusion, when we seek protrusion etc. The skin types of Asians differs, is more elastic, thicker etc. I would be concerned that my desired aesthetic outcome could not be achieved given the cultural differences

Yes, they seem to have kind of opposite problems as many non-Asians. Sarah W wrote:What is a bit worrying to me is the different aesthetic bias in this country. Sarah W> we all notice that when lusting over the mega transformations of park and other overseas docs...the procedures are usually the opposite of what most westerners are looking for!
still, the concept of facial balance is transcutural..and a skilled surgeon's hand could be negotiated with cultural differences in aesthetics. If more westerners are travelling for PS then some of these s korean docs must have relative experience with those patients wants/issues. but ill probaly just visit for the kimchi

Great post. I am looking into Korean docs for my facial surgeries. I am really impressed with the skill level and what they are able to do.

I wonder if they can fulfill the request of: 'Make me look like I'm part Korean'.
