I'm currently saving for surgery and I hope to have at least $12000 by August. I'm thinking of have perlane to the cheek area in the meantime and wondered if there was a cut off point.
If I have surgery in August or September could I have 2 or 3 CC of perlane now and be ok with having surgery later on.

Are you saving for surgery in the UK or USA? If you are thinking about going to the US then the exchange rate could be a killer depending on the election result.

I'm saving for the USA.. I've based the exchange rate on 1.50 to the pound.

Well hopefully it will be about that, a few guys I know that work in the industry think it might be heading for parity 1985 style. I hope that doesn't happen.

Hoenig gave me a quote for $8500 for facial fat removal, fat grafting and also a chin implant so I may have to compromise if there is parity.

I would hold off on the perlane. I had juvederm planning to save up more and do fat later on, but a year and 3 months later about half of it's still there. I didn't want to wait for it to all breakup since it's taking so long, I had the fat injections with some extra fat stored to inject later when the juvederm goes away. You'd probably be okay but I wouldn't risk it when your traveling so far.

I second Anna's advice: hold off on the Perlane. If you are having any work done on the face, it's best to have THAT done first (top priority). A year down the line when everything has settled in, see what if anything additional is needed to complete your look.

At the very minimum, discuss this Perlane idea with Hoenig - or whomever you are going to have do the face work.

You definitely can't count on Perlane going away by August, it lasted almost a year on me.

Your all probably right... I still have sub q in my face from 14 months ago and thats a lot thicker than perlane.
It's just really depressing catching yourself in the mirror, or shop window and seeing how haggard my face looks.

Well, in the time you're waiting for your surgery, start working out (if you don't) or up the ante on your current routine. Lose body fat, get a tan, whiten your teeth, spruce up your wardrobe if necessary. Botox, new haircut? Just anything that will make you feel better about your looks and take you further toward your aesthetic goals.

Hold off until the surgery as other's said. Ryan gave good advise, get a hair cut/new color, tan, gym-try yoga and stay away from the mirrors. It's very difficult but it can be done. Who's doing your surgery?

Agreed good advice.

I buy shoes. Plus, lipstick for my new lips for post LL time. Yes, just bought some bright pink ( Make up forever and NARS pink Schlapp) and dark wine (Poppy Lipstick wine sinner) that were on runways for spring &fall 2010.

I am embracing my inner fashion victim.

Thanks for all the advice.

Weight loss is a definite, but I'm just scared I'll look worse.... I suppose looking in the mirror will be a no no for the next few months, LO!.

Bag2,

I have arranged a consultation with Yaremchuk and Hoenig for August.
