This is a random post but I notice that there are some songs that I just really connect to emotionally for whatever reason. Just wanted to share a few and am curious what you all feel a connection to...

Bloodstream by Stateless - awesome, sexy lyrics..."I think I might've inhaled you/ I could feel you behind my eyes / You've gotten into my bloodstream / I could feel you floating in me"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sn3-1kvv6u4

I Drive Alone by Esthero - Also a sexy song
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bT2NImkhN4Y

Swimming Pool by Freezepop - Very joyful and uplifting - Lyrics "Everything is perfect now"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqCzqmtvYJM (especially from 4:36 on with the best part starting at 5:18)

Inevitable by Anberlin...beautiful lyrics..."I want to be your last first kiss that you'll ever have"

OK, I'm in uncharted water here ... and have never heard of these tunes that you list (but then where I live is a cave wrapped in a time warp inside the '60s).

Santana. Jethro Tull. Cat Stevens (now Yusuf Islam). Pink Floyd. Who. Led Zeppelin. OK, and Chris Isaak. And - here I blush - "Long May You Run" Neil Young. So it was written about his '48 Packard Woody. I like the tune. It's sweet.

You Are My Friend - Patti Labelle

Absolutely beautiful, uplifting, and I like the way "my friend" is left open to interpretation.

PS- Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin? I guess I took "emotionally attached" differently. Now I look like a sap.

The songs I listed aren't popular by any means. I found them all randomly. But I just love them. It's so cheesy but if I ever get married I would like to walk down the aisle to those parts I mention in the swimming pool song.

Cindy79,
I just listened to the first one-"I think I might have inhaled you".

Here's my advice in general to young women~ One tragic love affair, assuming you survive~ are the best memories when you get old, have babies and grandbabies.

He and I still see each other every few years and even tho we married twice, we were too (something) to make it work for long.

Oh, back to the off topic topic, I'm listening to alot of Warren Zevon right now~and I'm smiling!
Jennifer
edited to add Thank you!

I love that song. Did you ever see the ending of Six Feet Under when they play it? It's fantastic.

Oh of course! That WAS fantastic, I LOVED Claire, and loved how in the end it all ended up being about her. She was so beautiful in those scenes in the car, and what a great actress. Pretty certain she had a nosejob and chin augmentation at some point late in the series.

Me too. I was sobbing during that whole scene when Claire was driving and you see everyone die. But it was just so fitting to the show that you would see their birth and death year since every episode opened that way.

I LOVE Michael C. Hall and he is amazing as Dexter.

Just found a new song I love which is also along these lines. Haunting, emotional etc. Ignore that video if you hate Twilight.

I think I need to find some good happy, inspirational songs though.

Six Feet Under last episode
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=el4eUKmLujg

I never watched the show, but clicked on this one day and it's been bookmarked ever since.

And if you'd like to cry more, there is always the "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" for ER Mark's death

Want something truly zany? Something that will make you giggle? Try the CD "Whatchamacallit" by Esquivel. You can order it right on Amazon.com.

I have his CD "Space Age Bachelor Pad Music". It's way cool, fun, upbeat! Makes my antenna twitch just thinking about it.

I wasn't a Liszt fan when I was young, in fact I had zero tolerance, but then I got old and I changed my attitude. This one really kills me, melts my bone marrow. The pianist, Boris Berezovsky isn't bad, either. It's an unusually athletic performance of the 4th transcendental etude, AKA Mazeppa. I adore the demented haunted house quality. It's a devil to play.

I used to live up the street from Franz Liszt. LOL, he was dead at the time--I mean I used to live up the street from the house he used to live in. He lived in a nice little town in Hungary right near the Austrian border.

I've been having problems with computer since May. I'm on a loaner now and still waiting for a new one. If I don't get back to you or am not on board, it would be most likely due to another computer problem.

Pay no attention to Caesar. Caesar doesn’t have the slightest idea what’s really going on. Kurt Vonnegut

As I said in DC's post about seeing Eric Clapton *live* (damn you DC...I need to hang out with you)...I'm a definite Eric Clapton girl. Love him. Could listen to him all day and night. If I'm stranded on a desert island I'm bringing "Layla and Other Love Songs" by Derek and the Dominos. And Wilson, the Soccer Ball. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUQw8s-QZOg&feature=related

I am oddly jealous of your proximity to greatness. He was a hot babe most of his life, the original rock star with tons of swooning groupies. He had a profile to die for, too, and even in his 70s he had teenagers threatening suicide over him. All this means nothing in the face of his compositions though. I am not sure why it took me so long to appreciate him, I guess I was unable to overlook all that tremolo and bombastic virtuosity. There is actual music underneath it all, and it is really superb.
