I find that most colored contacts look very synthetic for some reason. Has anyone come across any that have actually looked real?

I heard of a company that does custom made for you and they look very real, Jennifer Aniston and others using these contacts, I never used colored contacts but I want to try some for fun

custom contacts still do not look very real because of their opaque quality and they are very expensive. The most real looking colored lenses are Solitica--I forgot the color I believe it was a yellowish green and it has a dotted pigment that melts into your natural color. No one was able to tell that I was wearing contacts and I got many compliments on my eyes when I wore them (my eyes are naturally brown and I'm middle eastern). Anyways I know this because I used to be a lensaholic and was apart of the lensaholic forum before it was hacked into. Second most real are the Soleko lenses from Italy I believe. Solitica are made in Brazil?? but do not remember it's been a couple years. Nothing else on the market compares--especially not the ones being promoted by your eye doctors.

I'm against colored contacts. Plastic surgery is ok. Colored contacts are wrong.

And why do you think that?

Because my eye color is one of the few thing I get compliments on and people sometimes assume that they are color contacts. I'm a hypocrite.

What kind of eye test does one need for those things? Also, is it possible to get them in prescription--like same kind of 'seeing ability' as reading glasses?

I've been having problems with computer since May. I'm on a loaner now and still waiting for a new one. If I don't get back to you or am not on board, it would be most likely due to another computer problem.

You can go to any eye specialist to get your prescription, and once you know it you can order a pair according to your prescription. They usually do not require proof that you have one. I believe some companies also provide lenses for those with astigmatism.

Contacts have to be 'fit' to the eye, if I'm not mistaken. Not all eye shapes/types can take every type of contact. There are conditions of the eye that can even preclude you from being able to wear contacts. I was unable to wear them due to allergies and dry eye. My eyes often become so dry, it feels like I have sand in my eyes and have to use artificial tears. Also, allergies can show up as tiny bumps on the inside of the lid and the can push against a lens and abrade the cornea. So, it's not a good idea to order contact without seeing a doctor and getting a script, for several reasons.

this is the Soleko (queen perla)
I apologize For the Nasty Brown skin patches (spent most of my life lying under the sun getting tan)

This lenses are from Europe, they are disposable only good for 3 months,
when they are in the lens case it is hard to see them as they are kind of see thru ,
is also difficult to see them when trying to get them out specially if they slide to the white part of the eye

they are very bright on, even with no flash and from far away you can see them like light eyes, , but they also fade
I think it mostly depends on the solution to rinse them, the color loses intensity and they can look less Crazy zombie
as they fade

Wow, they look really nice!! Did you already post what your natural eye color was? I have dk brown eyes and used to wear green tinted contacts. It is amazing how eye color can change the entire look of your face.

I used to wear one contact fitted for distance, the other for reading. Now I see they have multivision ones. I think the important script is for distance though.

Wow, it was like 10 years ago, but I think they were Freshlooks. The problem to me was that everytime I blinked, they moved a tiny bit, covering my iris for a second. it was weird. I bet they have alot better ones out there now.

Hi kk25:

I have dark brown eyes too - a few years ago I became a lensaholic like blahnose LOL - and tried all brands of lenses from crazy zombie looking lenses to more subtle ones - Like Sue I wore Fresh Look for a while -(the green ones) they are the closest to looking natural - the ones you have on look great but a bit bright for me - how much are they BTW - and were they easy to order - I have never ordered anything out of the US so I'm leery -

Hi Lazarelle ,I ordered the Soleko contacts from Mr Lens, it took approximately one week after to receive them after I placed the order,
http://www.mrlens.ch/default.php

they were around $40.00 plus the shipping

I also Ordered a pair of lenses from Brasil(Solotica Ice), those were pricey $140.00 USD w/shipping but I never received them.

also tried the other brands here from the states but they dont make them like they used to,
now most lenses that are sold here are the disposable kind so they tend to be cheaper quality and more fake looking, they also tend to slide more.
