It seems like at present, there is nothing available to thicken the dermis. I so need that myself and have spent many hours researching.

It seems to have a nice all over effect so that's why I mentioned it as I think it could work on the forehead. The doctor also told me that the only use 6 entry points in the face and that the hyaluronic acid spreads under the surface. I remember that Restylane also used to have something similar calles Restylane Vital if I remember well. It was their version of meso therapy. Re the micro needling, I read somewhere of a person who had it over the entire face and said that the skin wrinkled all around the 'dots" and that it aged her and looked terrible. I don't know whether it was due to being performed badly or if this is common regardless.

I think you meant re plasma pen? There are no dots after microneedling. At least not with me. The dots you see are from the plasma pen. I wonder if there is a chance for hyper pigmentation. I have seen some results where the person had white dots after the healing phase. I'm very pale but always turn very red/brown for ages until it it fully healed. I wonder if it will also be the case with plasma for me. Hmmm not sure to be honest. I am pretty sure it was dermarolling-is that microneedling? She said the skin was slightly thicker or stiffer- for want of a better way to express it- and wrinkled differently during facial expression. I wish I could remember where I read it. She did not mention hyper or hypo pigmentation, I guess a test patch is imperative just to be sure.

I believe it has less negative side effects traditional fillers could have in an unforgiving area of the forehead. But I have no first hand experience with it. I have done droplets of Restylane in forehead lines with no issues.
I've also done a ton of microneedling and although it does improve the skin quality I did not see any thickening or volumizing of de dermis which is what you are looking for if I understand you well. Profhilo is more for hydration. I have it done to my neck and it makes the skin look healthier.

Hi all - following up on this thread. I examined my forehead more carefully and determined that while the skin has thinned a bit, there was also some laxity that was causing the shallow, rolling shadows I was seeing in videoconf and in the mirror when side-lighted or overhead lighted.
Since I had good results with the fibroblast technique on my eyelids, I decided to do my forehead. The way the fibroblast technology works is that you see some initial tightening, and then a bit more at 8-10 weeks afterwards. I'm a week out and I definitely got some benefit from it, from looking in the mirror with side lighting. I'm off work this week so I won't see if things improved on video until next week. while I wait for the rest of the healing cycle, i'll continue to weigh my options for what to try next.
Back to my original question about microneedling, the aesthetician who did the forehead fibroblast showed me many pics of her own work on clients using a similar technique called "procell microchanneling". The microchanneling device is similar to microneedling, but works in a "stamping" motion vs a rolling motion for microneedling... allegedly less collateral damage from not dragging the device along the skin. The Procell part is their serum with human growth factor derived from bone marrow. The photos were impressive and I am probably going to give it a try after I finish fully healing from the fibroblast treatment.

Hi Robin, This is interesting. Does the fibroblast create enough tightening to actually lift the brows?

I wonder if there are ever skin healing complications from Fibroblast (?). When I think about how it is actually working on the skin, it seems like there could be some potential for some people to not heal perfectly from it--like maybe potential pigmentation problems or changes to texture.
Does the aesthetician do some kind of patch test or similar (with time allowed to see how it heals) in order to screen for this potential prior to treating an entire area?
The before/after results form the aesthetician Robin has used look quite good on IG, plus I liked her creativity regarding all the different areas and issues potentially treated.

Like anything else that causes damage to stimulate collagen formation...def potential for healing imperfections. You do have to sign a waiver ... just like with surgery, peels, laser, etc.
