Hi Guys,

I had a mole surgically removed many years ago and have a hypertrophic scar that is very noticeable. I'm wondering if you think a laser would be sufficient to remove/minimize the scar (if so what type of laser)? Or do you think I will need to surgically remove the scar?

Also does anyone know if there are any new methods that might work?

Thanks guys,

Nikki

If your thinking of consulting with Dr Guyuron for your nose then I would also ask him about the scar. I know he has revised scars for people and he also uses lasers.

My derm, Dr. Jill Waibel, specializes in laser scar therapy, and she has used the ScarrFx (fractional) on a friend of mine for a scar and it worked really well. She's in Miami, but her office might offer a referral closer to you. She has a ton of laser modalities for different conditions (I've used her for capillaries and red spots), so is an excellent source. She's also extremely nice and very outgoing. My treatment was actually fun.

I will look her up and inquire about a referral. Thanks!
