Thanks so much. When people tell me they are having problems, I shall refer them to this page (or use the link you gave).

ARGGHHHH...it did it again! UGH! Emptied cache. Got in. At least I know what to do now.

I think maybe it happens if you somehow mistype your password wrong the first time (even if it does not say you entered the wrong PW), it caches that wrong PW and you cannot log in until the wrong PW is cleared from cache, no matter if you retype it correctly before emptying the cache. This is just a guess.

I had a problem the other day and I have firefox where I click in the 'auto' password. Like I don't have to type it in each time. It would not accept THAT one. I wonder if there is some kind of security function that makes it hard for a hacker to keep trying different passwords?

That could be a possibility, Miss J. Maybe it's an automated type 'hacker' trying to access different accounts. I just don't know why anyone would want to hack my particular account here. I do see why someone might want to hack yours, though. Just so random.

I think there are automatic hacking programs that go though like millions of passwords to access different accounts. So maybe the 'system' tries to stop that?

TTB could tell you if there is a log-in attempt threshold set. I set the one on my board to 3 attempts, then it locks the account for 30 minutes.

My ACP (admin control panel) asks how many times a person can attempt log in before their account is locked (threshold). I set the attempt threshold to 3 on my board. Don't know if YAF is the same as phpBB boards or not.

I never saw it there. Maybe he has it on the godaddy log which I don't have access to.

I dunno. YAF is different than phpBB forums. I don't think it would be on godaddy side, but I could certainly be wrong. TTB will know.
