Has anyone had Lymphatic Massage after having a facelift? I am going to be starting next week, 5 1/2 weeks after my facelift. I'm hoping it will help with the swelling and scar tissue, speeding the healing process along.

If you get a book on it, you can do it yourself.

chaidude37, would you be doing this lymphatic massage on yourself - on the face in particular? Cuz I'm no expert, but there are physical therapists trained in doing lymphatic massage, and you could just tell them you had facial surgery and see what they recommend. They may even toss in some ultrasound around swollen areas.

When I was suffering from HUGE cankles after my staph infection back in May/June, I did lymphatic massage on myself, about 4 times a day for at least a week. I used the guide here: http://tinyurl.com/2egoxce

Again, I'd defer to the experts here.

Bug, I found a woman that does the lymphatic massage out of her home. I had it today. It was very soothing and lasted for an 1 1/2 hours. I am going to have at least two more treatments, one week apart. Thank you for the link.

There's also dry brushing for lymph. I use a cheap natural bristle vegie scrubber, that I bought just for this purpose. It's the kind where the brush is in a circle and it has a wooden handle. It feels great..when I remember to do it.

Hi Stache, I'm feeling pretty well, thank you for asking. The worst part is the neck stiffness. It makes turning difficult unless you move the rest of the body. Energy wise I feel back to normal but still haven't gone to the gym. I will probably wait another month to avoid aggravating the swelling. I'm still a little self conscious about the residual swelling so I kind of stay around the house, which can be aggravating in general. The lymphatic massage was very pleasant and I plan on at least two more treatments.
