I am set to go with Dr. Marten mid June for a revision Facelift and Neck Lift to correct the poor work done by another doctor when I was 34 in '04. I know I am in good hands but very nervous because the first facelift fell after a month and I was left with thick scars. Interestingly some other top surgeons in the area felt there was nothing they could do for my 'jowling'. If Dr. Marten can restore the jawline and make it last, it will be a hell of a nice 40th b-day present.

Congrats on making your decision and getting your surgery date. I met with Marten once and really liked him. I will definitely use him for my neck when the time comes. I was really impressed with how well the incisions healed in the after photos of his facelift patients. He does such a good job with incision placement and obviously spends a good amount of time suturing very carefully. So many docs basically ignore this portion of the operation, and he certainly doesn't.

When I was shopping for a revision surgeon for my nose, I too found several top surgeons who said, "I can't help you and get the result you want." When I finally found a doc who said he could help, I realized that the other docs were doing me a huge favor by realizing their limitations and not attempting to sign me up as a patient. It sounds like you did a good job of researching consultation docs, as well since yours were honest about their abilities.

Good luck to you, Chaidude. I'm a Marten patient from 4 years ago (FL, BL, FG). From my experience, I think you're in good hands.
