I keep hearing all of these rave reviews about the Clarisonic, but part of me worries about it being too harsh, leading to broken capillaries and other nasty stuff. Has anyone tried it?

Got it about 2 weeks ago and love the feel of it.It's very stimulating and cleanses deeply so products penetrate.I guess it's too early to tell if it really makes significant changes but there's all kinds of good reviews on it on makeupalley.com especially for blemishes.

I use a TIDE laundry brush. Works just as well--and no--it's not harsh. It's very gentle. I got mine in the detergent section of the supermarket. It's a battery operated revolving brush.

I've been having problems with computer since May. I'm on a loaner now and still waiting for a new one. If I don't get back to you or am not on board, it would be most likely due to another computer problem.

I use the clarisonic, my pores seem to get clogged less but I haven't seen any significant diffrence. I have thick oily skin so pores are a problem for me. The higher setting smoothes out the skin kind of like a scub but gentler. I haven't had any broken capillaries and there's a low setting for sensitive skin.

Would it be safe to use it in the shower?

I just use mine while in the tub or over the sink but I don't immerse it in water.

yes, I do all the time. They have a pink one that's cute. Breast cancer has made all my appliances so much cuter.

I have to say that I really do love my Clarisonic. I'd wanted one for a long time, but I was too cheap to shell out the two or three hundred bucks that they usually cost. I'm not usually a home network shopper , but every once in a while I get caught up watching one of the presentations, and as fate would have it, I stumbled on a "six easy payment" option for the Clarisonic. It really was the best deal out there. After a few weeks of use, my skin looks great . . . now in all fairness I've made some other recent changes that may also be responsible, at least in part, but I think the Clarisonic has contributed substantially. My advice is that if you decide to purchase one, do so from a place that will allow you to return it if it's not to your liking. And to those that asked - - the Clarisonics are fully submersable and can be used in the shower.

10 to 1 the TIDE LAUNDRY BRUSH works just as well. I use it and often get compliments on my skin.

I bought the machine pictured from EBay. It was practically brand new and of course I bought my own rotating brushes.
I think it probably works like MissJ's Tide brush. It makes my skin look clean and shiny.
The Clarisonic works differently though-some kind of sonic frequency that incorporates vibrations.
I wonder if that part makes a difference or if it's just marketing.

that thing looks like it takes up a lot of space.

I've been using my Clarisonic for about a month. It is making an improvement as far as the clogged pores and removing all traces of makeup, so I have fewer little bumps (milia or whatever). Makes my skin feel very smooth too. I have not noticed any new broken capillaries appearing. (I am using the "sensitive" brush.) Actually what I enjoy most is the vibration on my skin - it just feels GOOD!

I finally had time to go down to Sephora and pick one up. So expensive though, $250 less the 10% VIB coupon I had. I'm so excited to start using it.
