In the next couple of months I will most likely be having a Facelift revision of poor work that was done by another surgeon 5 years ago. I also want to have my Septum straightened but am worried that it will be too much to have done all at one time. My doctor doesn't perform Septoplasties so another surgeon would need to work in tandem with the primary doctor. It would also add at least an hour more to the 4 hour F/L revision. The main reasons to do the Septoplasty and F/L together would be to get it all out of the way as well as cutting down on cost. I just don't want to complicate the healing process since a F/L revision is not a cakewalk.

Who did you finally decide on to do your FL revision?

I can tell you that a septoplasty is not a walk in the park either. I (unfortunately) have had a septoplasty performed separately from my rhino, and while my rhino had a virtually painless recovery, the septoplasty was pretty bad to recover from. There was a lot of weakness/dizziness involved in the septoplasty and I was miserable to the point where I couldn't go about my daily activities normally for around three weeks. Whereas with the rhino I felt like I could run a marathon after three days.

Sassywoman, At this point Dr. Ristow is probably the surgeon I will be going with. Talullah, Sorry to hear about your experience. I think I will do the Septoplasty separately.

Hey chaidude
I look forward to hearing about your Ristow FL revision surgery, I have heard good things about Dr Ristow
and I know you have agonized over this decision for years & consulted with a lot of surgeons.
I had septorhinoplasty in 2008
and my recovery was smooth sailing though I was congested for months

Hi,

I recently had a septoplasty with tip revision and an upper rhydictomy with f/g with Dr. Guy. I had no problems at all with the septoplasty, except during the 1st 10 days couldn't breath through my nose until they take the coils out. It was painless. The other surgical procedures were nothing at all. No pain, discomfort at all.

Good Luck!
