Marsh - my guess is that he'd still do the revision unless he thought you couldn't get a good result without it. Although I would do as he suggests, he has a really great eye for what looks good.

Persephone - I would go with Guyuron for everything. Although noses are his specialty he's one of the best in everything he does. The facelifts I've seen all look really good. He is really a "one stop" kind of guy where he can do everything you need.

Earl25- do you know how far he was booked out when you were scheduling?

Violeta, I believe it would be to add height. I'm really glad to hear that it looked good on your friend; thank you for the feedback.

I chose June for personal reasons. I wanted to fly when there was no possibility of snow and it fit my work schedule. Hes like 1-2 months booked in advance. Im so nervous about my surgery

If you weren't nervous Earl, you wouldn't be human! Just try and keep postive thoughts flowing!! You will do great!

Good thinking on the snow, winters here are awful.

Add me to the list. After researching and reading and procrastinating forever, I decided to finally get off the couch and give up the idea of not wanting to travel for a FL. Several Guyuron posters helped me make the decision to just go ahead and fly to Cleveland for the consult. I was very impressed, felt comfortable that my goals could be met, and therefore had FL, genioplasty, and CO2 laser procedures 4 weeks ago. Everything was great, from the consult, to booking the appointment, getting pre-surgery to-do list, the recuperation and results, and even the fabulous Marriott accommodations. I have to thank all those on this board who helped with my decision and various questions, as well as giving me moral support.

Eliz, how are you liking the results of the FL?

Hi Eliz:
How was the CO2 with Guyuron? Did you do the full face or just certain areas. He invented
that silicone that he puts over lasered skin (can't think of the name of it) to expedite healing
and results. Just wondering how the recovery was for you with that aspect. I had full face co2
about 12 years ago with just a couple of valium and ice packs for numbing - don't know how I did
it actually, quite painful! He is suppose to be a pro with that though! I am going to see on
consult with him if he can just laser certain scars that still bother me! Good luck with your
continued healing!

There was a thread a while ago where there was a big debate over his office photos. I think cosmo was involved. I would like to hear the answer to birdy's question, too.
From the few people who posted their results here, I think he did a great job. I am just not a fan of going back to him for revisions-which I know would happen to me.

Hi DCNGA and cp,

I had full face CO2 and it was not painful at all. Most of the mask was removed on post-op day 4. The rest was removed on day 7, and I looked quite red. Although I did feel the need for the prescribed percoset, that was due mostly to the genioplasty, not the laser. I really needed my baby toothbrush which I knew to bring along. The mask did not allow for much mouth opening. On post-op day 8, with no mask finally, I styled my hair, and other than the redness which I probably could have covered a bit, I looked pretty good. I ate in the Marriott's dining room without scaring anyone away or being stared at !

I love the FL results. I had zero bruising (except a very slight yellow on the neck which was hardly noticeable.I didn't even notice it at first.) If I had not had the CO2 mask on, I really could have gone out the next day. The swelling was only noticeable to those who know what to look for. On day 8 I really looked quite normal.

I agree with Birdy. I was underwhelmed by his pre and posts on the web which I think is new. On the FL page almost everyone had the wierdest looking eyebrows that distracted you from appreciating the improvement.
He has a lot of in office pictures that are better. More importantly I met almost a dozen people who had had work by him at my consult and after surgery. I think I mentioned before that in the waiting room a woman from Cleveland who looked about 35 was waiting for her son who had just had a rhino with Dr. G. She told me that she was 57 I think and showed me her FL incisions which I had to really poke my face into her ear to see even without make up. Her son looked great. One of the women who works for him came to the condo and was gorgeous. She too looked like she was mid 30s but was 50s. She let me search her face too. She had had a FL, forehead lift, I think bleph and rhino but can't remember. I stayed in Cleveland for 9 days and I met several of his patients. Everyone was happy, many several years out. The wierd thing is that they all were so open about their proceedures and happy to show what a good job he did.
I marked that I didn't want pictures shown and haven't here. So, there is a selection bias for all these pre and posts in that you can't show what you think is your best work only what your patients will let you.
Cybergirl, I didn't need anything revised..yet. I will need more fat to the sides of my chin in time. I think the duration of a LL is uncertain - only 7 mo out and OK but who knows. The nose is great. The best part is that he lengthened it and I was worried that my nose would naturally lengthen with age and more so after the surgery. He said he stabilized it so that it wouldn't lengthen. One less thing to worry about.
cp. I had a scar on my face I believe he treated that with CO2 and his sealant.
Improved bravely showed us how great she looked and just kept getting better. Where the heck is she anyway, I miss her.
OK enough Dr. G love, must place lovely nose to grindstone.
Hope the tooth is OK Miss J.
God, I am the chatty one today aren't I.

You sound really happy too, Sam. I guess I have been a bit put off by stories of patients needing revisions. OK if you live in Cleveland and have time to spare but not so OK if you have to travel as well. Having said that, it is great he is a perfectionist. Many PS's are not.

Sam is Mary the woman you saw that works for him? I never get to see her face for more than a second or two but she looks great. The skin texture gives away that she's older than she looks but besides that you'd never know she had anything done if she has.

I agree his 'website' is underwhelming but I think thats just because he doesnt need anything fancy to reel people in like other doctors. He works by word of mouth, my friends know exactly who to go to if they ever want anything done.

As far as revisions, I feel like the high revision rate is more of a rumor started on the boards based off of just a few people. If it is higher than expected, it's probably because he does some of the most complex cases. My nose looks great and my freinds nose who had rhino/septo/turbinectomy looks flawless several years post op.

Thanks Eliz for your detailed reply! How much is the consult with Dr. G? I am just going to bite
the bullet and just see what he recommends for me, at this point!

Sam thanks for your reply also, if he could do some individual areas that would be great, the
downtime is what I can do without again!

Glad you are both happy with your results..

That's exactly what I did...I just bit the bullet and called for the consult, which I think was $240. After seeing Dr. G I met with the insurance person, and then had photos, so the original amount of time needed was longer than Mary told me. I only mention this because I had an additional appointment, then had to catch my return flight home, which was cutting it a bit short. I flew in and out the same time and used Ace Taxi to drive me around. Charles Alatise from Ace was excellent, and got me where I needed to be with time to spare.(Improved recommended him and he was terrific.)

As for down time, I could easily have returned to work on day 8, although people might have noticed something.(not necessarily from the laser though) I saw a close friend at 22 days post op and she did not notice a thing. I saw 2 other close friends at the 4 week mark and they also didn't comment/didn't even know I had been away. I left Cleveland on day 8 post op. There was absolutely no bruising, which amazed me because I bruise easily, but I followed the "rules" laid out by DrG's office and the results showed that they know what they are doing.
Good luck to you.

Anna, it wasn't Mary. I never saw her in the office. She just came to the condo the first day to make sure all was well. Don't remember her name
I must have had too much coffee when I wrote that last post.
