Wow Miss J, you have put this into a new light. I never noticed the scar before, the difference in lighting and overall shadiness shall we say about this whole thing. You are very insightful, thanks for calling the kettle black as they say

Dr. Dreshen (the doc on the web link here at the Clinique of Plastic Surgery) performed under-chin/neck lipo on a very good friend of mine and botched it horribly. In the opinion of another plastic surgeon who did her follow up care and revisional surgery, he damaged both her neck skin and platysma muscle with his cannula. His office also ignored her when she developed an infection. In addition to her, he also operated on an aquaintance of mine and I can spot his facelift scars from 15 feet away. Both are extremely dissapointed in their results.

I think I'm really good at INTUITING this kind of stuff simply because the whole style and presentation of the trademark lift and the 'franchise' type nature of it--and everything else, just set off alarms.
Gotta tell ya Mike D--not as if your entry is 'counter intuitive' to me. LOL
I've been having problems with computer since May. I'm on a loaner now and still waiting for a new one. If I don't get back to you or am not on board, it would be most likely due to another computer problem.

Yes, Miss J--It does seem that the bad surgeons do a good job at excluding themselves from the savvy consumer. I feel really badly for those who don't know how to weed through all of the b.s. My friend fell for his slick marketing way back in the day after my nose revision despite my warnings to go on multiple consults with some docs recommended by my nose surgeon.

The whole thing of that 'refresher lift' franchise (I stated some issues with it in this string) just spelled SHARK to me.

It's kinda like the old adage "you can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig." It seems like everyday some substandard surgeon is renaming the facelift and making it somehow seem different than what has been previously described in the literature. I didn't have enough patience to look at what docs had signed on with Dreshen, but were there many of them? Any noteworthy ones?

Mike D, That's part of the 'alarm system' that went off. Let me explain: I too wanted to know which doctors did this. I clicked on to "Find a doctor in your area" (Who performs this lift). Guess what? It does NOT tell you which doctors perform it. INSTEAD, a pop up window comes up prompting you to provide your full name, address and phone number; REQUIRED FIELDS to fill out just to find out which docs in your area perform it. Now THAT RIGHT THERE is a red flag. Like if you have to provide them with personal info just to see a roster of doctors, it's a sign that they want the info from you so they can call you and SELL. So, more likely than not, giving them your full contact info would be for the purpose of DIRECT MARKETING to you. What also got my attention was the prompting on the site to "Take a Refresher Lift Vacation". 10 to 1 and I'm hedging my bets on this---the act of filling out that form just to find "a doctor in your area" who is part of their franchise, is most likely going to result in some direct marketing to you to "Take a Vacation" OUTSIDE of your area to have it.
