I remember Brad Jacobs. He was a favorite go to guy on breast surgery forums by those gals who wanted humongous overly blown up tasteless tits. He was not board certified and kept on saying that 'board eligible' was just as good.

Looks like he was a drug addict in 2001 which is the time alot of gals on YTF (perhaps the Bailey bunch) were going to him. Check this legal document out. Later down the line, he wanted to claim his drug addiction for disabilility insurance. But they told him NO because this drug addiction didn't prevent him from working as he was prior operating on people while doing crack. What prevented him from working was the board of health suspended his licence in 2007 because he was a DANGER to patients.

after reading that summary i can't find anything that says whether insurance co ended up making payments... did you? I think this ruling had to do with additional motions and cross motions related to summary dismissal, which looks like they were denied. I can't find anything subsequent to that- maybe the insurance co settled after their dismissal motions were denied?

The weird thing about it is that it cites 60 surgeries over 4 years - and cash/check payments of 8-10K apiece. that's not much money for two physicians to split over that period of time. I wonder if the 60 cases are just those patients willing to testify (vs. the entirity of the surgeries..)

I read on it that the insurance company said 'no' to payments when he made the claim of disability (for the reasons I said in the post). But I didn't find the final outcome of it either. I was quick reading it but from the perspective of noting he was the type to do a lot of drugs, perform surgery while he was on them and then have the nerve to file a disability claim after he was shut down by board of health. Basically, the 'message' the insurance company got was that he was earning a lot of $$ doing surgery WHILE doing drugs and from their perspective, the drugs did not disable him. His disabling patients by doing drugs and being a danger to patients for that reason and health department closing him down was not grounds for him to claim disability with his insurance company (from their perspective).
