Two words: Water Retention! Even though women suffer from this more, everyone's cells will swell or shrink in reaction to various factors like alcohol, salt intake, exercise, how much sleep you've had. If you take note of what you've been doing/eating before "fat days" you might notice a cause and effect pattern.

Nice advice thanks....im sure it is the cheese,im a big cheese head.I need to stop eating it.Also i find that my face swells for about 2 minutes after i have eaten, especially when lots of chewing is involved! It could be a side effect from my infection with Malar implants i had 3 years ago but it also happens to the side that was not effected.Maybe i have some kind of yeast infection or allergic reaction to some foods like cheese etc.

How fat does your face get? My face got really fat when I was 17, I'm 29 now and I screwed up my face a bit by having lipodisolve (fat disolving injections) to my lower jaw.

I used to feel my face changed by the day. At first I thought it was down to my diet because I ate a lot of past. I felt my face would be more bloated after I ate pasta than if I went a week with out doing so.

Looking back I'm not sure - I've had tests and nothing has been found.
It could be water retention but I'm not sure how much of a difference it would make to your appearance.
If you feel it's something worse have it checked out by a doctor and don't let them put you off. My doctor thought I was crazy so I had to go private.

What ever you do be careful with facial fat removal because it can affect the look of your whole face.

Take care.

I've definitely found that carbs make my face more bloated, too...I've also noticed that people who do the Atkins diet sometimes get a gaunter look in the face.

Well i have had massive chipmunkish cheeks my whole life since i was a little tot and despised them more than anything i have ever known,i should have had buccal fat removal as soon as i was born mate!

I had some lipo a few years back that helped a bit but they are still fat.Fat removed from the face in a reserved way in places that will never go down is worth it for sure let me tell you as long as you go to a doc that specialises in micro lipo.I have seen youre pics and you are quite flat in the midface, much more so than i am and you should be happy about this.Fat in the lower face, around the mouth and buccal area is not a good look!

Yeah i think it has a lot to do with pasta as i eat tons of the stuff with tons of pesto sauce and cheese but i must stop.I havnt eaten any for about a week and noticed my face is thinner so i am sure it has this bloating effect!

Splashy,
There is a diet book out called "Eat for Your Blood Type". It says that people with certain blood types can have minor allergic type reactions to some foods and then gives suggestions as to which foods to use in your daily diet according to your blood type.

I first found out about this book when I used to eat at the MACRO-BIOTIC place a lot. Macro biotic is no meat, butter fats, milk ect. Anyway, this woman came up to me and said:
"You know, this type of diet is for sick people to help shrink tumors and all. You might not be a natural vegetarian and could be a natural meat eater instead". Then she told me about this diet book I should check out. So, now, I still eat the macro-biotic foods BUT as SIDE DISHES to my lamb chops.

Try reading that book. You might be the type (Type O) which does not do well with the type of food combos you are eating.

Also, since there seems to be more of a topic relation with 'Health and General Fitness' than with Social Psyche issues, I'm transferring this thread to the Health and General Fitness section now that you told us you eat all that pasta and cheese. LOL

Thank you MissJ.I am going to look out for that book now for sure.It sounds like a good read...

That Macro-biotic diet is what Gwynith Paltrow used to be on too,i kept reading it in the papers lol.I myself like meat way too much to go full on veggie or vegan. You must feel quite happy after reading the book and realising you could still eat youre tasty pork chops alongside the macro foods.

It would not surprise me that i am (type O) and are having these reactions after eating all this pasta, pesto sauce and cheese!

Yes. It's the type O's that should not be eating a lot of Pasta and cheese but are the natural meat eaters. Pork is not for type O though, lamb is and beef too. I just make the pesto with basil leaves, garlic and olive oil. I don't add the pine nuts and cheese to the mixture.

Fluid retention (from a sodium/potassium imbalance) or minor allergies can cause swelling. The best way to determine this is an elimination diet, allergy testing, and the ELISA sensitivity test. Some of the most common allergies/sensitivities include: wheat, gluten, corn, tree nuts, peanuts, oranges, shellfish, dairy, eggs, raw tomatoes, strawberries, yeast, soy, and honey.
